The non-profit Hasler Foundation has been promoting information and communication technology in education, research and innovation for the benefit of Switzerland as a center of thought and work for 75 years.
The foundation awards CHF 5-7 million in grants annually.
Tasks: You prepare the content of the meetings of the Foundation Board, take minutes and implement the resolutions of the Foundation Board. You will also perform the same tasks for the commissions (Finance, Funding) of the Foundation Board. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, you prepare the annual business report. You maintain contact with applicants, external asset managers and authorities, as well as other stakeholders important to the Foundation’s work, such as universities, schools, funding agencies, associations, foundations, companies and the media. You are the first point of contact for applicants and decide how to proceed with incoming applications.
Your profile: As Managing Director, we are looking for an independent, communicative personality ideally with a doctorate in computer science, communications or electrical engineering and several years of management experience. You should have research and teaching experience yourself in the areas supported by the foundation, an understanding of the currently important topics in these areas, and a good network in the ICT sector.
Ideally, you will also bring in-depth knowledge of the Swiss education system at all levels. You should also be familiar with key business concepts and have an understanding of capital investments.
Languages required are German and English at C2 level, French at C1 level, as well as the ability to manage the Foundation’s simple IT infrastructure and website on your own.
